Instructions

  1. 1

Chill two tall cups or bowls in the freezer for 10 minutes.

  2. 2

Let the ice cream sit on the counter for 5 minutes, just until it gives slightly when pressed with a spoon.

  3. 3

Add the ice cream, milk, and vanilla to a large bowl. Stir and fold quickly with a sturdy spoon for 30 to 45 seconds until it looks like soft serve. Do not overmix or it will turn soupy.

  4. 4

Fold in half of your crushed mix-ins until just distributed.

  5. 5

Spoon into the chilled cups, drizzle with syrup if using, and press the remaining mix-ins on top.

  6. 6

Serve right away with a spoon.

👨‍🍳 Chef Notes & Tips

The small splash of milk is what gives the ice cream its soft-serve texture. If it gets too soft, freeze it for 10 minutes and stir again. For a McFlurry you can eat with a straw, add 2 more tbsp milk. Make it fresh. A mixed McFlurry does not freeze back well because the cookies turn soft.
